Hey everyone,

Since I still dont' have my own bow yet I was hoping I could get some info on how to go about buying one. I was recommended to OC Archery and High Tek Archery. Both are about a 20 min drive from where I live so I'm wondering which would be more worth while. I've been looking around amazon and ebay for bows, but apparently traditional recurve bows are hard to find. Also, I know that most bows have a 28" pull, so I was wondering what length the arrows should be. I've seen some at 28, 30 and 31. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Strykinlycan and welcome to the Santiago Park Archers website. As you mentioned above, there are a few local shops in the area that specialize in archery. Hi-Tech and OC Archery are the largest. If you are looking for traditonal recurve bows, there are a good number of manufacturers on the market. Look at Ragim, PSE, Samick and Martin (to name a few who make entry level bows).

Choosing arrow is a step you should make AFTER choosing a bow. Arrows need to be purchase to match the draw weight of your bow. Arrow length is determined acording to YOUR draw length, not the draw length of a bow. You can find plenty of information on arrows HERE.

I hope that helps. See you at the range!
