Fellow Archers,
A serious matter has been brought to our attention regarding the use of animal targets (both paper and 3D) at the El Dorado Archery Range. Long Beach Parks and Recreation department has been persuaded to disallow the use of these targets based on several spectators who found shooting animal targets to be offensive.

Disallowing these type of targets at the El Dorado Archery could set a precedent for other public archery ranges in Southern California. Can you image the Santiago Park Archers Tuesday night shoot without the running animal, the animal round or the 3D round?

This topic is scheduled to be discussed at the upcoming Long Beach Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting on Thursday, August 21st at 9:00am. We urge anyone who has the can attend this meeting to do so. The future of field archery may very well be at risk.

Please attend if you can. There is strength in numbers!
